Receiver-In-Canal (RIC) Hearing Aids
The RIC style hearing aids sit over the ear and use twin microphones with a tiny wire connecting it to the speaker, which then sits in the ear.
They are very popular and come in a variety of designs and technology levels. These are generally classified as “open-fitting” devices which means they allow some natural hearing to occur and do not block the ear canal completely – though this depends on the hearing loss and ear shape.
